Training Day 16 (09/29/09): Walked nearly 9 miles today with two pairs of shoes and socks and a backpack as well. Check out the Training Day 16 Update for all the details.

Training Day 12 (09/25/09): Endoscopy = no training.
Training Day 11 (09/24/09): Good 5+ mile walk. Check out the Training Day 11 Update.

Training Day 9 (09/22/09): A good 5.74-6.14 mile walk today. I took a new route, my feet didn’t hurt as much, and it went pretty quick. I walked further North that normal which meant a little more slightly uphill walking which is good. For the full report and video update check out the Training Day 9 Update.
Training Day 8 (09/21/09): Nothing today. Relaxing and letting the feet get better.
Training Day 7 (09/20/09): Another 5.5 mile walk today. Getting a little bit easier on the legs, even if they were sore from yesterday. Feet hurt a bit though. For the full report and video check out the Training Day 7 Update.
Training Day 6 (09/19/09): Big 5.5 mile walk today. I left at 9:55AM and got home at 11:35AM. The first hour was hardest as my legs were still sore from my training walk on Day 4. For a full report and video check out the Training Day 6 Update.
Training Day 5 (09/18/09): No training today. Resting up for another 5er tomorrow. I’ll be sure to do some stretching in preparation this time.
Training Day 4 (09/17/09): 5 mile walk. Says 4.98 miles on the pedometer, 10890 steps, 6.42 miles according to Trails.com – Map of my route.
After walking for about 3 miles every incline feels greater than it is. While walking on the National Mall that is mostly flat it isn’t too demanding, but once I’m out on my real walk it’ll be quite hilly.
After about 3.75 miles (according the pedometer) my feet started to hurt. But there was no damage, no blisters, and no soreness.
Training Day 3 (09/16/09): No training today. Off day. Back to training tomorrow. I read that it’s good to rest every now and then so I don’t over extend myself.
Training Day 2 (09/15/09): 30 minutes / 2 miles on the treadmill. Took the steps 10 floors afterwards (LL-9=10 or something). Sweating a lot! So I was able to hit the 4mph mark. I don’t think I’ll be able to keep that up without more training.
Training Day 1 (09/14/09): Starting out easy. 30 minute treadmill walking session and taking the steps up 9 floors. I basically needed to get on a treadmill just to try to figure out a good pace to make it 4mph.
