Sorry about the delay. Here is a look at the newsletter from work called Cross Reference about the t26mc. Written by my coworker Donna Davis (thanks Donna!!!).

Cool.

Two bits of exciting news!

The story of the walk was featured in our department newsletter at work. I’ll scan or take a picture of it soon when I get a copy of it.

The other thing is that the Personal Trainer Walking “game” is pretty simple. Put the “Activity Meter” in your pocket and walk around. At the end of the day (or the end of a couple days) just start the game, click the Activity Meter and it transmits the data to the game. It tracks how many steps I’ve walked and when I’ve walked.

I’ll get a video of this up soon as well.

Personal Trainer: Walking

There is a game available for the Nintendo DS called Personal Trainer: Walking that came out earlier this year. The game, a term that should be used loosely, allows you to track your walking information by using the two Activity Meter accessories that come with the game. Basically, the Activity Meter is a pedometer.

I saw this earlier and thought about purchasing it but for $50 is was a bit expensive. Amazon has it on sale right now for $19.98 so with a few dollars shipping I couldn’t pass it up. Should be interesting to see exactly how it works.

Right now I don’t have any long distance walks planned but come Spring time I think I’ll be walking a lot more. In the mean time I think I’ll use this to see how many steps I take at work and stuff like that. I’ll post further details once I get the game.

Check out the website here: http://personaltrainerwalking.com/

And a funny/goofy video promoting it.

Arboretum 2

Also while we were walking around at the arboretum we saw this Banded Woolly Bear caterpillar. I was testing out the macro mode of the camera for the first time. You can see how it focuses on the street sometimes rather than the caterpillar. I need to use it more to figure out the optimum distance so that the macro mode works as its supposed to.
